But there are several designs (standard shank and Tru-Depth shank ). Only problem with these shovels is once they are flipped the bolts start to loosen occasionally I believe because the shovels start flattening out. If pick front blades up it will go in any hard ground. Have a 9 shank run 4" concave twisted cupped shovels. Alot of guys around here have gotten rid of them too a differant color or ripper. I would look at a Wilrich or a Landoll If I were you but that's you call. Cousin has the same 1 & has the same issues i'm having so it's not just me. I wanted too weight it down years ago & the JD dealer said no you are going too break it on the frame were the weights go. They are a hoppy hop on heavy ground bounce up & down. I have a 13 shank & use it on rockier ground & backup if I get behind on ripping. I would look for something more heavier built if I were you. ![]() Was wondering how they we'll they stay in the ground. Looking at updating our old IH 6000 disc chisel.
